Gold Coast if you didn't know is a city in Australia and not just a stretch of endless golden sandy beaches. Although of course Gold Coast has some of the most beautiful golden sandy beaches in the world.

One of the most famous beaches in Gold Coast is Surfers Paradise it is not only a beach of course it is a town, mmh do you see a pattern developing here? The reason why the beaches are towns and the towns or cities are 'coasts' is that Gold Coast is just one very large holiday playground. It is the most popular spot for Australians to take their holidays and that makes it an awful lot of fun. 

The main tourist attractions in Gold Coast are the ones that you would expect from a tourist destination. The Dreamworld Amusement park offers a range of entertainment for all, from white knuckle rides to merry-go-rounds for tots and then everything in between. 

WhiteWater World is more of the same by it is gravity that provides the power and water that provides the thrills. WhiteWater World is almost next door to Dreamworld but you will need at least a day at each to experience everything especially as the queues get a little long for the four biggest rides, each one of which is a world record breaking ride.

If thrill seeking at speed is not your style then do consider fishing the fish off the Gold Coast specialise in being big and dumb enough to take whatever bait you dangle, though don't expect them to just get reeled in, hence the straps on the seat that you sit in. 

Maybe under the sea is somewhere you would like to be and if it is then you are in luck because the Scuba Diving off the Gold Coast is some of the best in the world. Just off shore you can dive down through glittering shoals of multi-coloured fish to startlingly beautiful reefs. There is even a wreck or two to dive on in the crystal clear warm waters that make Scuba Diving as comfortable as it is jaw droppingly beautiful. 

Gold Coast itself is worth a day or two exploring, it has been called the Venice of the of the southern hemisphere and that is because there are so many canals, rivers, streams and waterways and the shore side houses built along this vast network of waterways must be seen to be believed.
